Just in Case it Matters to You
Weekly Report 21-43
- WE ARE INCREDIBLY “UNPREPARED FOR THE FORTHCOMING TAKEOVER OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE.” According to a Nobel-winning psychologist who studies human bias & errors: (1) “Humans are very experienced in a more or less linear world, with minds essentially unequipped to grasp the basic idea of accelerating exponential growth & change; (2) It’s common knowledge at this point that A.I. will soon be capable of outworking humans – if not entirely outmoding them – in plenty of areas; (3) The battle is going to be an absolute blowout where humans get creamed; (4) Not listening to science is bad, evidenced by the biggest hour-by-hour experiment in global political decision-making about the coronavirus; and (5) that massive disruption is just around the corner, stemming from wide dangers in using data and A.I. to augment or replace human judgment, resulting in massive consequences to human leadership.” Isn’t that exciting? [THE GUARDIAN and FUTURISM – THE BYTE – 5/16/21]
- LATEST POLL OF PUBLIC COMPANY BOARD MEMBERS, the Director Confidence Index, found fewer than half now forecasting ‘improving business conditions’ in the next twelve months, and nearly 30% who fear ‘worsening’ conditions. 55% reported that ‘skilled talent shortage’ is presently occurring at some locations & departments and, when asked to rate the ‘importance of talent attraction and retention to corporate strategy,’ 85% responded “critical.” [CORPORATE BOARD MEMBER – 5/21/21]
- LAST YEAR, OVER 300,000 CYBER-INTRUSION INCIDENTS came from online phishing and phone vishing, with over $4 billion in losses, and some $13.3 billion over the last five years. ‘State-sponsored’ cybercriminals also “obtained control over vital systems & information from military organizations, energy providers and government agencies, providing strategic advantage to Russia, China and other nefarious countries… American organizations are still awful at the basics: hardware/software inventories (including mobile devices, cloud services, containers); vulnerability risk management (including supply chains); controlled use of administrative privileges; and the U.S. does not yet have an appointed National Cyber Director.” DCG can help direct your organization to specialists in protecting your tangible & intangible assets, and your sanity in event of hacker attack. - HOW CAN ANYONE WITH COMMON SENSE NOT RECOGNIZE “THE ATTEMPT OF AMERICA’S NOW RULING CLASS to convict 455 persons of ‘armed insurrection’ (i.e. of waging war against the United States, a species of treason) for protesting insufficient scrutiny of the 2020 election on January 6 in the Capitol, while at the same time excusing and even cheering the burning & looting of courthouses, police stations, and downtowns all over America – as the Oligarchy replacing the American republic and waging war to crush its remains, people at war with our Constitution and contemptuous of our constitution.” https://amgreatness.com/2021/05/20/regime-vs-regime/
- THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK:
‘Risk’ is a subconscious critical factor in almost every aspect of our behavior, and acceptance of risk is based on awareness & understanding. A well-done video perspective: https://biggeekdad.com/2020/05/the-five-rules-of-risk/
IN QUOTES: Underlying four months of radical progressive Federal administration are three underlying beliefs and marching orders supporting the concept Divide and Conquer: (1) “Never let a serious crisis go to waste; it’s an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before” – Rahm Emanuel; (2 ) “We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the U.S.A.” – Barack Obama; (3) “As we emerge from the pandemic, I believe that we are at the start of a new era, with a unique opportunity to now shape our nation’s future, to transform how we live and work and how we vote” – Kamala Harris.
