• PANDEMIC UPDATE: Some 330 ‘research’ articles on impacts of Covid 19, many funded by local hospitals but others published by prestigious journals such as Lancet, have now been “withdrawn due to compromised ethical standards and concerns about their scientific validity, after editors ‘noticed’ that strategies mentioned were giving the wrong impression of being recommended as actual prevention or treatment… Even after retraction, over 200 continued to be cited – some by a median of seven times per paper.” [EPOCH TIMES – 5/26/23]
  • WITH MEGAMILLIONS OF UNIVITED IMMIGRANTS STILL SURGING THROUGH THE SOUTHERN BORDER (over 6 million mostly male and low-skilled), 18 states have now sued the Biden Administration’s re-definition of previously illegal border crossings as ‘legal pathways,’ encouraging and allowing entry through a phone App, after which they now receive work authorization, access to public benefits (including food & health), get dispersed around the country, and with (supposedly ‘temporary’) asylum. Additionally, regardless of their own eventual status, any children they subsequently bear have a Constitutional right to U.S. citizenship. “No country in Western Europe offers birthright citizenship without exceptions to any children born within their borders, and many (including France, Ireland, Australia & New Zealand) have abolished the practice altogether.” These issues, as much as our Security and Economy are the urgent issues in America – more so than the personalities of self-appointed candidates for the upcoming elections.  [PATRIOT POST – 5/31/23]
  • THE MOST FUNDAMENTAL LAW IN SOCIAL SCIENCE IS THE LAW OF UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES – that “decisions made and policies adopted with the very best of intentions can, and often do, backfire in predictably unpredictable fashion.” Researchers at Northwestern University have found that children moving to a ‘better’ school or classroom (for ostensibly better teachers or facilities) comes with increased risk of academic and behavioral challenges, including worse performance on tests and increased misbehavior. The reason is that kids surrounded by smarter peers is intimidating, while “Relative Standing matters for student choices; it’s just not as fun to work on a task when lagging behind peers, versus enjoyment at something they’re ‘good’ at relative to others… So, all else being equal, kids in a class with smarter peers are more likely to have these problems than if they are surrounded by less-skilled students.”  [KELLOGG INSIGHT – 5/16/23]
  • THE WISDOM OF WOKE BANK EXECUTIVES: “Before it was closed by federal regulators, Silicon Valley Bank donated more than $70 million to various social justice initiatives that sought to advance the Black Lives Matter agenda. According to a database tracking corporate contributions and pledges that go to the Black Lives Matter movement or related social justice causes, the database found that the Silicon Valley Bank made $70.6 million pushing race-based hiring practices, race-based subprime voter initiatives, and diversity equity and inclusion efforts commonly abbreviated as DEI.”  [DATA EXAMINER@TIMEWIRE]
  • THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK:

Americans are now almost living in ‘Bizarro World’ – and alternate universe in so many ways. “If it were not so serious, it would be a great comic book series replete with outlandish characters.” https://townhall.com/columnists/allenwest/2023/05/30/americas-version-of-bizarro-world-n2623816?utm_source=thdailyvip&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=nl&bcid=e528c871aa145108beedd5861042dd0900c705fb9f3fce9716a80a3b43775e9b&recip=28965474

AN OBITUARY PUBLISHED 25 YEARS AGO:  THE DEATH OF COMMON SENSE:

“Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense. No one knows for sure how old he was, since birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape, but he will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: Knowing when to come in out of the rain; Why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn’t always fair; and Maybe it was my fault.  Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don’t spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly after parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children, and declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or aspirin to a student, but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.  Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses and criminals received better treatment than their victims, when homeowners were restricted from defending against robbery while burglars could sue for assault, and finally gave up the will to live after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot, spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents Truth and Trust, his wife Discretion, daughter Responsibility, and son Reason. He is survived by his five stepchildren: I Know My Rights / I Want It Now / Someone Else is To Blame / I’m A Victim / and Pay me for Doing Nothing.  Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.  If he’s still in your memory, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.”

“Never waste time on arguments that don’t make sense. It’s a complete waste of time and energy to argue with the fool or fanatic who does not care about truth or reality, but only the victory of his/her beliefs and illusions. There are people who, no matter how much clear evidence and facts are presented, simply either lack the capacity to understand, or are blinded by ego, hatred, perhaps resentment, and care only that they’re ‘right.’  When ignorance screams, intelligence is silent; your peace and quiet are worth more.”
