- “AMERICA IS IN CRISIS, with the Leftists battling the ascendant right, a clash of visions between a socialist nightmare in which America becomes either a feudal, feral combination of California and a communist college campus, or remade into something like the glorious, golden country it once was. The Leftist party is eagerly embracing admitted communists and seem to be under the impression that normal patriotic Americans have no right to engage in their own self-governance… Right now, they are choosing obstruction, having halfwit left-wing federal judges essentially declare that anything President Trump does is unlawful, with hints that their frustration at not being able to force us to submit via lawfare is pushing them toward violence; the last time patriots tried to deprive them of their servile class, they chose war… In liberal leftist ideology, Conservatives aren’t just wrong, but actively evil with witches to be burned and murder morally okay. They openly embrace a platform that despises America, considering its citizens morally unfit and unworthy of having a voice in their own government, nor basic civil rights like speaking and worshiping freely… The question is whether this resolves peacefully or sparks another civil war – which would have a victor, but not any winners, with the people who start such a war through their malice and stupidity finding themselves yearning for someone as peaceful and benign as Donald Trump.” https://townhall.com/columnists/kurtschlichter/2025/07/17/can-we-get-out-of-this-without-a-civil-war-n2660460
- SALARY ADJUSTMENTS FOR EMPLOYEES in most organizations is generally correlated with Managers’ measurement of the worker’s level of Productivity, based on quantitative performance during a specified period – e.g. units produced or sold, errors made or caught, complaints lodged or not, and so forth. What often gets overlooked in the Evaluation process is the qualitative measurement of ‘Soft Skills’ a worker brings to his/her function, which often impacts Productivity to an even greater extent. Examples of important Soft Skills are both Character Traits (like, integrity, positive attitude, job enthusiasm) and Behavioral Habits (like dependability, timeliness, active listening & direction-following). DCG services include PERFORMANCE EVALUATION & COMPENSATION PROCESS, involving development of forms appropriate to employee roles, and training in communication & counselling sessions.
- “RESEARCH SHOWS THAT SITTING FOR EXTENDED PERIODS CAN BE JUST AS HARMFUL AS SMOKING, by raising the risk of chronic pain, metabolic issues, and other chronic illnesses, since the human body is a dynamic system meant for movement, but ends up stiff, compressed, and inflamed. Desk bound lifestyles increasingly cause: (1) Low back pain from prolonged spinal compression and tight hip flexors; (2) Neck and shoulder tension from forward head posture and screen time; (3) Carpal tunnel syndrome from repetitive wrist use; (4) Jaw tightness and headaches from chronic clenching and dysregulated nervous system; (5) Eye strain from prolonged exposure to blue light. These issues aren’t random. They’re the body’s intelligent response to chronic stress, poor posture, and a lack of movement – and, if we don’t interrupt the pattern, they tend to worsen.” [MYHEALWORKS.COM]
- AN INCREASING YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS has now involved 42 state Attorneys General asking Congress to legislate required Warnings on social media platforms. Of particular concern to psychologists is prevalence of narcissistic behavior in students under age 18 having increased some 10% in the past decade, attributed substantially to social media use which bolsters kids’ need for constant approval and self-esteem, leading to narcissism – “need for admiration, a pervasive pattern of grandiosity, overinflated sense of importance, and lack of empathy for others.” Combined with (1) being given trophies for finishing last and gold stars no longer awarded for best performers (for fear of excluding others), plus (2) Baby Boomer parents failing to encourage children to do good without expecting praise, subjected to peer pressure to cater to their kid’s every need, as well as “trying to live vicariously through their kids with unrealistic expectations,” the emotional needs of children get short-changed. Analysis of over 37,000 US/Canadian/Western Europe participants, published by American Psychological Ass’n, suggests that today’s levels of increased narcissism in childhood carries through into their adulthood, so while teens are somewhat naturally selfish – thinking everything revolves around them – social media is far from the only factor of concern for our society’s future. THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK
- A permanent 4-day workweek is being considered by nearly 100 companies with some 3000 workers, after a six-month trial of the shortened work week, with some employees also reducing up to eight workhours, all without pay cuts. While the study didn’t measure company-wide productivity, 90% of the companies maintained the shortened schedule, suggesting output and profit weren’t harmed. Employee results were exceptionally positive: significant reduction in burnouts, notable improvements in job satisfaction, mental & physical health, and well-being. Moreover, subsequent tracking for six-months found “all major effects persisted, with those benefit indications remaining significantly higher – i.e. reflecting genuine and sustainable change.” [NATURE HUMAN BEHAVIOR JRNL]
- “Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg spent over $80 billion in grants promoting a woke DEI agenda, but left little tangible physical development from all that spending. Rather than actually fixing the nation’s outdated and decaying infrastructure, he infamously called roads and bridges Racist, while transportation-critical industries were effectively ignored, having little to no interest and taking zero action to modernize air traffic control, instead ‘vilifying’ the airline industry for delays – 54.3% of which were due to weather, and 10.6% attributable to the national aviation system.” [PATRIOT POST]
- Despite the emphasis on hand hygiene during the pandemic, regular handwashing has yet to become a consistent habit, even in places where cleanliness is vital for preventing infection spread. A 19-week study in Danish public hospitals, using advanced pipe sensors to measure temperature and water flow from both toilets and sinks, found 45% of toilet users failed to wash their hands after using the toilets.
