- WE’RE NOW LIVING THROUGH ‘ORGANIZATIONAL SINGULARITY’ – a world where one person plus AI can outcompete organizations without it, and the most extraordinary business transformation in human history, rewriting every assumption about how business, work, creation of value, and who captures it. This isn’t a matter of AI just replacing humans (though, indeed knowledge workers will be replicated by a $20/month subscription), it’s about empowering humans (at scale) to replace traditional organizations, since companies don’t need: (1) a 50-person customer service team when AI agents can handle 10,000 conversations with consistency and in any language; (2) a marketing department when AI can segment audiences, generate creative, optimize campaigns, and report results faster than any team; (3) Middle Management when AI can coordinate workflows, track progress and flag issues in real time; or (4) the 6-figure Corporate jobs that require credentials and experience. Solo entrepreneurs plus AI will soon be able to beat hundreds of people staffed in businesses, governments and non-profit organizations who fail to implement Artificial Intelligence.” [METATRENDS- SUBSTACK]
- WONDER WHY THE SONGS YOU LOVED AS A TEEN ALWAYS FEEL MORE EMOTIONALLY POWERED than those of today? The reason is that “during our teen years, memory and identity are being built simultaneously, Research has shown that brain development through adolescence follows a specific sequence involving emotional processing, social cognition and self-referential thinking which heightens emotional reactivity, neural plasticity and a dopamine system that responds to novelty with an intensity that adult brains cannot match. So, music during those years became a tool for self-definition – separating from parents, signaling membership in social groups, new & overwhelming emotions, encoding experience and deeply encoding engagement. Our brains preserve those emotional experiences because the stakes of that development were high, and became a permanent structure of identity.” So, hearing music from high school years is significantly more powerful than music from these days (if you can even call rap or hip-hop ‘music’). The emotional power of adolescent music built a self out of sound and feeling and memory, storing the blueprints of where they could always be found: in our brains. [EXPERTEDITOR.COM.AU]
- HUMANITY IS ON THE CUSP OF EVOLVING TO A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FUTURE, facing a shift that will cleave humans into groups with dramatically different capabilities and lifespans. “The asteroid we call Exponential Technologies has already hit, and we’re headed for major splits: (1) Creators versus Consumers – those utilizing Artificial Intelligence to build software, design products, generate content, start companies, and pursue ambitions to become creators/ entrepreneurs/ innovators/ architects of the next economy, versus those who are passive and don’t; (2) Longevity Escape Velocity – for those who use science to embrace therapies like gene-editing, organ replacement, & epigenetic cellular programming to extend healthy lifespan, versus those who watch from the sidelines; (3) Brain-Computer Neural Interface – for those who adopt high-bandwidth direct connections with the Cloud to achieve perfect memory, instant access to all information ever recorded, and ability to coordinate with other minds, who will function on entirely different terms that those who decline; (4) Earth versus the Stars – adventurers heading to space to build something from nothing with different environments, challenges, social structures, relationships with survival & community, while current branches of humanity become increasingly distinct; (5) and, ultimately, Digital Immortality – where some will choose to upload the full contents of their minds into a digital substrate copy of themselves and a different relationship with Time, Mortality, and Experience than those who don’t. These are the inevitable consequence of Exponential Technologies arriving at their logical destinations, with forks between the Future and the Past (which is today).” [PETER DIAMANDIS]
- THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK: Ignorance can be educated, and crazy can be medicated, but there’s no cure for stupid.
- The newest AI ‘Earbud-Camera’ system – ‘VIEWBUDS’ – lets users talk with an artificial intelligence model about what they’re seeing, which captures low-resolution images (grayscale, not color), then sends them to a phone or other nearby device which verbally answers questions about the scene in one second. Viewbuds allow people with low vision to read books, assist travelers easier than smart glasses, have built-in storage for music, and allow gameplay up to 40 hours.
- Anthropic’s newest model, Mythos, can now hack everything – any database, operating system, hospital, power grid, stock market, military, bank account, even including so-called ‘zero-day’ vulnerabilities (meaning nobody knows about them so there’s no defense). In a couple weeks, Mythos AI found more exploits than the entire global security community discovered in the last decade. So far, the only things AI can’t hack are physical gold, silver, and Bitcoin.
